What is it about
With the modernization of the STOBAG website, the demands for structured methods to correctly classify and understand the performance of the web presence increased. In addition to classic key figures such as visitors, bounce rates, and engagement rates, qualitative insights were to be gained in order to specifically further develop the digital presence.
STOBAG develops and produces high-quality sun and weather protection solutions. The family-run Swiss company sells its patio roofs and awnings in Europe and North America. For 60 years, the STOBAG brand has stood for premium quality, innovation, and trust.

What was achieved
In joint workshops with Jung von Matt IMPACT, the central goals and KPIs were defined – derived from the most important corporate key figures. Additionally, a micro-conversion was introduced to represent the quality of website traffic understandably and comparably.
All decisions and technical foundations were documented and implemented using Matomo Tag Manager for Matomo's self-hosting solution.
The new Matomo Server-Side Tracking Setup enables STOBAG to securely process data on its own servers – completely without dependence on third-party providers. This allows STOBAG to meet the highest data protection standards and retain full control over its own data basis.
Not every website is an online shop with immediate conversion. For complex products like sun protection solutions, the decision-making process takes longer. Micro-conversions show which visitors have high conversion potential – for example, through interactions with specialist partners or relevant page elements. This allows STOBAG to understand which marketing channels truly deliver qualified traffic.
With clearly defined KPIs, a practice-oriented workshop, and a modern Matomo Server-Side Tracking Setup, STOBAG has created the basis for data-driven management of digital success – transparent, independent, and data protection compliant.
